Kickapoo High School has been a school known for athletic and academic acomplishments. And over the past few months people (mostly white women at a young age) have started petitions to change multiple things about the school due to it being "racist". Let me clarify, Racism is discrimination towards people based on their race or ethnic groups.  The only Kickapoo tradition that fits that category would be headgears as school spirit. BUT, the logo, teepee run-out tent that is used for entrances to football, and the name of the school do not target or discriminate against anybody that is Kickapoo Indian. The individuals that are trying to get most things banned are not even a part of the school or the football program. This is why I and many other people think that these traditions should be kept.
