the school districts dress code is outdated, sexist, and sexualizing teenage girls all over the county. it’s forcing us to cover up the body parts that shouldn’t be sexualized. you are teaching little girls that they are the problem. that their body is a problem, when it’s not.

there’s no reason why my 13-18 year-old body should be distracting you in anyway. you’re sexualizing a minors body. if that’s your mindset then you are the problem. teach boys to focus, not girls to cover up. it shouldn’t be a teenage girls responsibility to help boys concentrate on something other than their body. 

multiple girls in this county feel unheard. we should NOT feel sexualized by teachers. we should not be called names because of what we wear. And we shouldn’t be told that we are “practically asking for it” when deciding to wear a skirt or a dress.

The dress code is sexist. never have I ever seen a boy get dress coded for wearing a tank top at school. But as soon as a girl does it it’s considered a “distraction”. not to mention that the dress code has 10 times more restrictions on what girls they can wear then boys do. How is that fair?
