As the school year progresses, more and more students are ending up sick. While we have measures in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19, they are not protecting us and our families. During the 2020-2021 school year, students were able to work remotely on Wednesdays while the school was closed for cleaning. There were significantly less students in the building last year. With almost all of our students coming to school full time, we need the building to be deep cleaned now, more than ever. 

Not only does making Wednesday asynchronous allow for the building to be cleaned, it also gives teachers and students an opportunity to work from home. This prevents us from getting burnt out as frequently and limits our exposure to the virus. According to a report by the American Psychological Association, "long-term stress weakens the responses of the immune system ... because stress decreases the body's lymphocytes, the white blood cells that help fight off infection". High stress is only adding to our susceptibility of contracting and spreading the virus. 

We, the students of Carylnton, will be taking this petition to the next school board meeting on December 7, 2021. Every signature is appreciated and will be a great help! :)
