Quinn Tetley-Sutton started this petition to School Administrators

At my school, MLC, I'm a part of a student-written newsletter. I attempted to create a recurring segment for the newsletter called Queer Corner which would help educate the school community about the technicalities of the LGBTQ+ community and help people to understand what various terms that fall under it mean. It was intended to be an educational tool, not an opinion or political column.

However, after creating the first edition of Queer Corner, it was not published in the newsletter and I was told it had been removed due to the fact that the title implied a sense of entrapment with the use of the word "corner" and that it would offend those who are opposed to this community, and that the newsletter is intended to be an inclusive environment, not one that ostracises certain individuals. However, removing my article from the newsletter is exclusionary of the LGBTQ+ community, which I have never read an article about in the newsletter.

This petition is intended to call for the school administrators to publish this recurring segment in the newsletter and finally have the LGBTQ+ community have the representation it deserves in the newsletter.
