Greg and Marcia McLean were the cornerstones of music education in Swift Current, and dedicated their lives to enriching the local music scene and producing some of the finest musical talent to have ever come out of the city, including orchestra players, opera singers and other music teachers. Collectively, they spent decades educating the city's students, taking people with often little formal music education and creating bands and choirs that competed and won on an international stage, as the many trophies attest to.  The McLean's were equally involved in the community, bringing their high school bands and choirs to events and leading or participating in local music ensembles.

Even those that didn't pursue a musical career were forever changed by the McLean's, because in addition to making excellent musicians, they also created exceptional people by instilling confidence, a strong work ethic, and leading by example.  They taught students to think big, to dream big, and that they could accomplish anything if they applied themselves.

They are two of the best music educators that you could find anywhere and the finest people you could ever meet.  It's time to honour their legacy.  Please sign this petition to name the music room of the Swift Current Comprehensive High School, the "Greg and Marcia McLean Music Room".
