Second Chances for Inmates

S.C. prisons are over populated, our Judges have started giving mandatory sentences, many times without parole. Meaning inmates serve all of the sentence day for day! Even if these bills passed the inmate would have to serve 15 years with excellent behavior to “become eligible” for parole. Plus other requirements. These bill’s has been in congress since 2010 and  they keep getting pushed back. We’ve got to be a voice for our loved ones and get these bills passed! They have no hope! It would also allow them to serve 65% of the sentence rather than 85%. Prison is supposed to be a rehabilitation. If it could be that first then some of them would not become hardened. Put more into education so they won’t need incarceration. Instead of making inmates into veterans and having to spend millions on healthcare too!!
