Say NO to overdevelopment in our San Carlos neighborhood before it's too late

The current plans for a new hotel at Laurel and Spring streets is unneighborly and inequitable, clearly favoring business profitability over the well-being of long-term local residents.

The new 4 story 104 room hotel will bring more traffic, more noise and more density to our family-friendly residential neighborhood. It will stress difficult street parking issues, make an already dangerous intersection at Spring and Laurel less safe, and drastically reduce our property values. For some residents, the height of the building will block views, light and fresh air into their homes.

The City of San Carlos needs to consider homeowner and family interests as well as those of commercial entities. A better course of action would be to limit the project in height and footprint.

We ask that you deny the permit for the current plan. The developers should revise their design for a lower, smaller structure and resubmit for review. We respectfully request that you take this into consideration.
