At Sayreville War Memorial High School over the last couple years the administration has taken extra security measures like adding metal detectors and security guards to search every bag and every student. With close to 2,000 students in the school the screening of everyone and their bags brings delays of getting into class because everyone has to wait in line to be screened. Students have to wait in line from anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. So this makes students who don’t arrive to school at least 10-15 minutes early late to class all the time. And the school penalizes students for being late. So would you like to be penalized for a situation you can not control? I don’t think so. So we are asking the school to come up with a solution to this besides just telling everyone to get here earlier. Early is early, and on time is on time. Not late
