Right now Polish Parliament is considering a bill that would treat sexual education as a crime equivalent to pedophilia. Conservatives want to send anyone who educates young people about sexuality, sexual health, or contraception to jail for 5 years.

Even as we write this, we cannot believe that this is happening. There is no such law in any democratic country. Nevertheless, our politicians want to deprive our youth of reliable knowledge about sexuality and contraceptives under the guise of “child protection.” 

We must not allow Poland to become a shameful example to other countries who seek to conflate education with crime, or to ban books and free speech.

Banning sex education is an action against future generations and it prevents medical professionals and educators from doing their jobs.

We strongly oppose this attack on our children, and ask you to join us by calling on politicians to reject this proposed law before it's too late.
