The Msunduzi Municipality want to rezone a church property in the suburb of Bellevue, Pietermartizburg, to allow for the construction of a cellular base station and tower. I am vehemently opposed to this since the tower will be situated between and 200 and 300 meters from the Ivy Gardens complex amongst a.o.

Studies have shown that the health effects of continuous low dose electromagnetic frequencies emitted by these towers do have significant health effects ranging from increased cellular stress to DNA strand breakages which is linked to cancer a.o. This however is vehemently denied by the cellular industry and global governing bodies due to known conflicts of interest.

During 2021 The Msunduzi Municipality registered the first application to rezone this property. I submitted a signed petition from many Bellevue residents and lengthy report on the many relevant studies which demonstrate various known ill effects. This rezoning application will be the 2nd from Msunduzi Municipality.
