Why this petition matters

The Stamford North Development that is proposed to build 1300 homes on the farm land north of Stamford will create various negative impacts. Your vote to stop these plans will have an impact so please share and vote to stop the development.

  1. Traffic is already a huge concern in Stamford and with potentially an additional 2 cars per home making a total of 2600 extra cars on Stamford's roads this is going to make life on our roads even worse. Added to this with the development of 650 new homes being built at quarry farm and a potential of 2 cars per home that would make an extra 1300 cars , added to the 2600 this would make a potential 3900 extra cars on Stamford's roads. Anyone who lives in Stamford knows traffic is massive issue already and with no plan to accommodate this much traffic the development is not acceptable to the well being of residents already living in Stamford.
  2. Residents living on Kesteven Road and Masterton Road that back onto the fields where the development is planned to take place, will have houses built right up to there fence line. This means the views and privacy will be gone from these houses resulting in the house valuations dropping considerably through no fault of the owners. The desirability of owning one of the houses on Kesteven and Masterton road has been mainly due to the views and privacy of having no housing backing onto them. These residents will 100% be affected by a reduced desirability of there house. This will drastically reduce the value of these houses which is unacceptable and needs to be addressed before any plans can be approved.
