Refuse development of new flats + houses on Green Belt land in Rush Green.
This petition made change with 493 supporters!
Barking and Dagenham College has proposed to build 30+ flats and 125+ houses in Green belt land to meet a budget deficit within the college.
If permission is given, then a precedent would have been set and consequently no green belt in Barking and Dagenham is safe from developers.
At the outset, their plans are to build on green belt land which is contrary to council policy. Few years ago, they wanted to build 50 homes to meet another deficit but plans were refused at the planning stage.
This time they have met the same opposition as the council is committed to safeguarding the green belt and - for the moment - they have not submitted a planning application - yet!
We are petition the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to protect the green belt and refuse planning permission on the grounds of:
- Protecting the green belt
- Existing parking problems around the college will get worse
- Budget deficits can be dealt with in different ways.
- Strain on public services such as schools/education and GP/healthcare.
Please sign this petition and help protecting the green belt land in our borough.
Many thanks for your support.
