Petition update

Thank you all!

Nov 13, 2016 — First of all I would like to say a huge thank you to every single one of you. Your signature has the power to do anything: to create hope for those in desperate need; to make changes that once seemed impossible and to unite in justice, compassion and truth.
In the case of our petition to Staffordshire council, regarding the recent approval of a chicken factory farm, they have made the decision to remain in acceptance of the proposition despite the over 70,000 strong petition, and now the building and preparation for the farm is under way. I cannot say that I wasn't hugely disappointed to hear the news, but what we must focus on is the awareness that has been raised. Everything that could have been done was done, and campaigning will continue. Your signature holds testament to that! Despite the lack of compromise from the council, tens of thousands of people are now aware of the realities of the way their food is produced.
In the knowledge of the reality, all of these people are now in a position to change the way they, and the people around them, think about food: to ensure that at every opportunity, they think, where did this really come from?
Every animal deserves to be treated with respect, compassion and to be given the justice they truly deserve. South Staffordshire council may have decided to ignore this, but you don't have to. If we, as consumers, change the way we think about food, we can and will see changes made.
My campaign to end caged hen farming continues, and is gaining huge amounts of support! Please sign the petition to make a difference to the lives of the wonderful animals so many people take for granted. You will find the petition at change.org/nomorecages
I will keep you up to date with issues regarding broiler chicken farming in the future.
Thank you all and my very best wishes,

Lucy
