Why this petition matters

Started by Ed Hansen

The expansion of BackWater Expeditions is not good for the Historic Ebenezer Creek. BackWater Expeditions is in the process of purchasing a plot of land just under 70 acres along Ebenezer Creek that will be the future home of BackWater Outpost RV and Campground Resort. BackWater Expedition is a canoe and kayak tour agency that already utilizes the Ebenezer Creek for their canoe and kayak tours. Take a moment and Google BackWater Expeditions and you will get an address of a public Effingham County owned boat landing located at 158 Tommy Long Rd, Rincon, GA. Here is where they use a public county owned boat landing for their Ebenezer Creek canoe and kayak tours. They bring many visitors, contaminates and pollution into the Ebenezer Creek on a regular basis for profit already. Adding a RV Park to the Ebenezer Creek to capitalize on greater profit will only bring more visitors, more contaminates, more pollution from noise; traffic; air; the list goes on. Please say NO because there will be no going back. Once this land is encroached upon and disturbed, this land will not be able to return to being clean, quiet, and natural like the beautiful Ebenezer Creek.
