Why this petition matters

Started by Linda Cooke

An application has been made for a new mixed use residential and retail building at the corner of Lincoln Ave and Mount Vernon St, Ridgefield Park.

Properties to be demolished begin with Kiseki restaurant (the old diner) across from This & That Hardware and include the next 3 houses going up towards Main St: 36-46 Mount Vernon St.

This new 4 story building will include:

-       28 residential units, which is over 4 times the number of dwelling units the Village code allows for this space

-       55 off-street parking spaces for these new residents, entrances on both Lincoln Ave (right next to Vogt Park playground) and Mount Vernon St, creating significant additional traffic on both streets

-       2533 sq ft of retail space, with NO new off-street parking for that, for which the Village code requires 9 spaces

The developer is seeking several variances to allow this to happen.  The Zoning Board meeting to consider this application has been moved to Tuesday, APRIL 19 at 7:30pm in the courtroom of the municipal building on Main Street.

PLEASE sign this petition to let the Zoning Board know that this is not OK with you, we DO NOT want MORE traffic and LESS parking !  If you can also attend the meeting to support our opposition to this large development project, please do that as well.
