Say NO to 55 Unit complex in Point Clare

The Point Clare community are severely concerned by the significant number of clear and apparent flaws contained within the details of DA 51373/2017. This application has been lodged for planning approval with Central Coast Council, by Baptisit Care, NSW.

It is the community's firm and fair belief that the current environmental and logistical infrastructure of Point Clare is exceedingly ill equipped to cope with a development of this size and the requirements of it's proposed residents.

The primary community concern is that this huge multi-million dollar, high density 55 unit complex will profoundly change the character of Point Clare forever from the quiet, family-oriented community it currently is.

BaptistCare have indicated where they wish to head with the Orana development, including expanding their footprint into residential streets. 

This development in the heart of Point Clare, has attracted fierce community concern and anger. BaptistCare are no longer only concentrating on aged care, it has instead signed a multimillion dollar contract with the NSW state government to provide social and affordable housing

BaptistCare has confused the community with their ever-changing development proposal and terminology and has continually failed to address the concerns voiced by residents regarding the lack of infrastructure in Point Clare for a development on such a massive scale.

We need to get 500 signatures so this can be presented to the Honourable Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales, JRPP, and Central Central Council.

The undersigned petitioners ask the Legislative Assembly & Central Coast Council as a consent authority to enforce Clause 16A of State Environmental Planning Policy (Affordable Rental Housing) 2009 and Clauses 33 and 34 of State Environmental Planning Policy (Housing for Seniors or People with a Disability) 2004 i.e. the consent authority must not consent to the development unless it is compatible with the character of the local area (namely compatible with the character of Koolinda Avenue, Girralong Avenue and Northwind Avenue and surrounding residential streets).
