The German program has been apart of Lake Brantley HS for the longest time. There have been no problems inside or outside the class for all those years but it’s suddenly being taken away from us. Our principal is removing the class because of the lack of students signed up for next year. We have 6 full classes of students this year and most are returning, including upcoming freshman. Registration for the class was blocked by February, making the numbers lower than what they should’ve been. This is the only German class in the county for high schools and one of, if not the only, foreign language class that has an exchange program, making our school look even better with class opportunities. The kids who are supposed to be moving onto German 2, will not receive a language credit for this year, making them take two years of a different language, which is completely unfair. Mr Willis (German teacher) has been one of the best teachers i’ve ever had, he’s given the school no problems for the 10+ years he’s been here and has changed some kids lives forever with our exchange program. The students, including myself, need your help to try and change the principals mind with your support and as many votes as possible.
