Rivers are the most integral part of our ecosystem. They are the major source of water for agricultural purposes, drinking water, electricity, etc. The Gomti River is a tributary of the Ganges. According to the Hindus, this River is the daughter of Rishi Vashist. The Gomti River is a popular tourist area in Utter Pradesh. Tourists carry lots of food and trash with them and carelessly dump them in the river. Due to all the trash in the Gomti River, it is now one of the dirtiest water bodies in India.

besides the issue that tourist is trashing the Gomti River that is polluting the water in a very bad way that a research team of environmentalists had to take a survey and found out that the dissolved oxygen (DO) in the Gomti river has dipped to dangerous levels and can no longer sustain aquatic life. the Gomti River is also one of the biggest suppliers of water to Ganga near Varanasi, its contributing 7.39 billion cubic meters of water every year to it. Thus, steps should be taken to prosecute violators who are damaging the rivers. These violations can include dumping garbage or any sort of waste in the rivers or misuse of the river freshwater. The dumping of chemical waste or muddy water from irrigation is also considered a violation. Violators can include both tourists and localists. Any violators should be fined and demanded to help in restoring the river back to its original state by removing the waste from the rivers.

by signing this petition you will contribute to helping get the Gomti River to its original state and enforce a law to start the changes right away. LET'S SAVE THE GOMTI RIVER
