Save Cowes North facing beaches!
One of our few beautiful North facing Victorian beaches is going to be destroyed by the addition of the Stony Point to Phillip Island car ferry! The council has just released a draft business case to locate the car terminal on the beach between Mussel Rocks and Cowes Yacht Club. This will destroy the beach and have a huge impact upon both locals and tourists who use this beach - swimmers, power boaters, sailors, kayakers and all water users!
We need to save Cowes’ rare, north facing beaches for future generations!
THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT LOCATION
Cowes’ beaches are not the right location for a ferry terminal. These rare, north facing beaches are used by locals and visitors for swimming, walking and boating. The proposed ferry and it’s affected area will change the beaches forever.
THE SHIRE NEED TO LISTEN
Bass Coast Shire Council must engage with the community on this proposal. The information to date has not been adequate and is out of step with community expectation.
WE WILL FIGHT
The community will fight this proposal in opposition to a Ferry terminal at this location.
Please sign this petition to help us save our beautiful safe family swimming beach!
NB: this petition is not against the car ferry, it is against the car ferry being on a North facing beach.
