The City of Mount Dora is in the process of implementing changes that will directly affect the level and quality of service you the citizens have asked for and have been receiving from your fire department.

The City of Mount Dora is pursuing the elimination of 12 firefighter positions from your fire department. Going from 36 firefighters, down to 24 firefighters, cutting the services we now provide to our citizen by 1/3.

From this you can expect:

• Longer response times
• Decreased non-emergency public services
• Decreased effectiveness for critical incidents including structure fire and emergency medical events
• Decreased public safety education

The Mount Dora Fire Department currently serves their community through three Advance Life Support fire apparatus each staffed by four highly trained and dedicated firefighter/paramedics to meet the demands of our citizens for both fire and medical emergencies. The cut in staff will reduce your services to only two Advanced Life Support apparatus to respond to the increasing emergency demands of our expanding community.

We are here for you our citizens 24 hours a day, seven days a week, night or day, including holidays. Now, we are asking for your support.
