THE ISSUE:

It has come to the attention of the residents of West Hills and Cold Spring Hills that a proposal for a Zoning Code Change for 472 (Mobil Station) and 1000 West Jericho Turnpike (formerly Sun Ming property) will be brought before the Town Board.

The sole purpose of this zoning code change is to allow an application to the Zoning Board of Appeals to permit a massive 3,600 sq. ft. 7-Eleven convenience store with a HUGE Gas Station. This will allow a high-volume, 24-hour, 7 day a week operation to exist at an already dangerous and congested intersection. 

THE PROBLEM: The zone change will negatively impact our quality of life:

Our safety will be put in jeopardy because of the increased traffic.
Our environment will suffer from light, air and noise pollution.
Our property values will decline because the area will be deemed a less desirable place to live.

We, the undersigned, strongly urge Supervisor Ed Smyth and the members of the Huntington Town Board to DENY the zoning change and the development of the proposed 7-11!
