On Thursday May 5 .... parents received the dreaded email that the YMCA Labor child care center would have to close their doors. After 12 years of serving the San Antonio area. As many know the down town area has a mix of cutlers and income. The daycare brings a safe community for children to grow up in. Through Covid they helped parents who were front line workers care for their children. The city has made a rash decision to close the daycare, to either build new apartments or pave the way for a new road. We have called many city officials with no definite answer as to why this decision was made.We are asking people in the area to sign this petition to help us keep the YMCA down town child care center open.
