The Unicorn Inn is in the Market Place, Banbury. It is hidden behind its own 400 year old wooden gates obscured from public view and all but forgotten.

The Unicorn is one of the oldest buildings in Banbury which is a town known for destroying its old buildings, so we need to protect the few that we still have.

The Unicorn was built about the time Banbury Castle was destroyed in the 1600s and very probably much of the stonework from the castle was used in the building of the Unicorn.

Both the Banbury brewery `Hunt and Edmunds` and the Banbury printers Cheney started at The Unicorn Inn.

The Unicorn building has been left to fall apart for many years. It needs the power of the people to push Cherwell District Council to stop the neglect of this historic building.
