Santa Clara Cty gave a building contractor for a new home permission to cut a massive oak tree in front of our house - 60’ from joint property line - for line of site.  Keep in mind no one on this road has a line of site.  We never received notification from the county or the contractor so we nor our neighbors had an opportunity to object to their removal of 175+ beautiful redwoods, oaks and heritage trees. Why didn’t the planning department tell him he needed to relocate his new driveway rather than impact us by losing value, trees and privacy not to mention the pain, anguish and legal expenses. They are also having the Sheriffs on site so we will be arrested if we try to intervene and save our tree.
