The Talbot Hotel is not only one of the oldest buildings in Stourbridge, it is home to a passionate crew of volunteers who are attempting to keep the business open. The staff/residents have been working hard to make improvements and create opportunities for those who struggle in daily life. We currently house people who struggle with mental health, victims of domestic violence, and those who would otherwise be homeless. These people are in need and pay rent, and have been told to leave after  previously being told they would be safe to stay here if they donate their time to restoring the business after needing to pass fire safety regulations. The crew have continued to donate their time to redecorating and were previously told they would get an extension which hasn't been provided. As far as the residents are aware, the owners are now in jail for breach of fire regulations, and no duty of care for life. Now it's due to happen again, after promising everyone a position if they helped, and they are now forcing closure and leaving these people back on the streets with nothing and no one.
