Selling the lands would result in an irreversible loss of leverage and protections. There is no way to prevent the District from using the land for other purposes. Not even restrictive covenants.

The Federation is proceeding unilaterally without the consent of the other members of the Smoke Bluffs Access Committee.

The reason we chose to live in Squamish is because of the natural beauty and access to nature that is so close at hand. The Smoke Bluffs area is one where we spend a lot of time wandering on the many trails, which are painstakingly maintained by the many of us who enjoy the trails. This truly is one of the most beautiful areas in Squamish, supporting a vast & diversified amount of flora & fauna.
I am strongly opposed to any development in this area, and ask Council not to approve the sale of the land.

I am signing as I believe it needs to be protected forever. There us no guarantees if it is sold to the District.

Smoke Bluffs is an important park for the community. Changing it for money is a really bad idea

Don’t be silly. This area makes Squamish what it is.
