An estimated 100 million sharks are killed by humans annually, either by recreational or commercial fishing. Many of these sharks are fished mainly for its fins. Fishermen capture these sharks alive, and fin them using a hot metal blade, before dumping them back into the sea – leaving them to be eaten alive or suffocate to death.
Some species have been reduced to just 10% of its population during the last 20-30 years, while a 70% decline rate in most other species isn't uncommon.
Let the future appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature – Say NO to shark fin soup.
