Our river is dying.  The fish are dying.  Ultimately if the river stagnates we will lose all the wildlife around it; including breeding water birds.

This once beautiful river is a lung that runs through outer villages to Ipswich, Suffolk.  The Gipping is currently being strangled by weeds, and polluted by industry, that need mechanical clearing to make any difference. Local working parties have been manually trying to clear spots every week and, although the efforts are amazing, it needs more people to help or the agencies that SHOULD be supporting efforts to get involved.

The Environment Agency, the Local Council and Anglian Water all pass the buck and say it isn’t their responsibility; with the later making huge profits without putting investment back to save the river.
