🗳️On Friday, November 1, a special meeting was held at 8 AM outside Montrose, where the Montrose TIRZ 27 board voted to move forward with the Mayor’s Cartree project. This decision comes after over four years of public engagement and comments, with significant opposition at the special meeting itself: 45+ attended in person, and 80+ participated online.
• In-person attendees: 21 opposed the Cartree plan, and 9 supported it.
• Online participants: 39 opposed the Cartree plan, and 2 supported it.
🤔✅Despite community feedback, the TIRZ board pushed forward and approved the Mayor’s Cartree project in a 4:2 vote.
What’s next?
• A 60-day period for project redesign, estimated to cost approximately $400,000.
