Why this petition matters

Started by Kaylee Miller
On April 4, 2022, the vice principle of T.F Riggs High school declared that the learning center in room 202, would be shut down. Countless kids count on room 202 as a safe place, an open anxiety-free zone, and more. Shutting down 202 is shutting down a safe place in an anxiety inducing school. Help us save room 202.
---
Why are they shutting down room 202?
- The high school has apparently been trying to shut down 202 for years, but now, with the influx of students joining Riggs next year, they have an excuse to push it through.
Why save room 202?
- By signing this petition, you're not only saving room 202, but the trusted instructors that truly make room 202 a safe place.
- Mrs. Kearney and Mrs. Allen are two amazing teachers who truly care about their students. They are what made room 202 a safe place for all students no matter race, gender, age, or sexuality.
- Mrs. Kearney excels not only at keeping students focused and on task, but helping students with any classes. She has helped students with biology, geometry, algebra, English, history, geography, and so much more! If you need help with something she doesn't know how to do, she will make sure she is an expert on the subject in order to help you.
- Mrs. Kearney also serves as a counselor to many students who may feel uncomfortable talking to the actual school counselors. She is willing to listen to aby problems you may have and offer you unlimited support. Kids who need a break from people are welcome in her classroom even during her free period. She truly cares for her students.
- Mrs. Allen is a dedicated instructor who helps kids with any math related problems they may have. She is patient and understanding of her students. She is always willing to help her students outside of her designated time with them.
