The Tavern & Gazebo has been an integral part of Nantucket’s vibrant community and culture for over 34 years. However, this beloved institution is now at risk of disappearing. Nantucket Island Resorts, has made the decision to not renew the Tavern & Gazebo's lease, effectively threatening its future and disregarding its legacy of service and community engagement.

For decades, the Tavern & Gazebo has welcomed countless locals and tourists alike, offering a unique location for socializing, celebrating, and relishing in the charm of Nantucket. Its strategic position on the island, along with its rich history and dedicated team, have made it a central part of Nantucket's distinctive cultural fabric. The closure of such a landmark would represent a significant loss not only for the local community but for visitors who associate the Gazebo with the quintessential Nantucket experience.

The long-standing relationship between the Tavern & Gazebo and the community is a testament to the establishment's value beyond mere commercial interests. We urge NIR to reconsider their decision and negotiate a fair extension of the lease, allowing the Tavern & Gazebo to continue enriching the island's community for years to come.
