Save The Horse Shoes pub

Save The Horse Shoes pub
The Horseshoe pub located in Asfordby established since the late 18th Century is currently being brought by the CO-OP food to extend the shop adjacent to the pub subject to sorting planning permission. It will be converted from a old tradition busy pub in the heart of the community to a glorified shop.
Over the last 10 years, Fran and Royston have worked tirelessly to make this old traditional pub a social/family environment for all the locals and surrounding area to enjoy from cards on a Sunday afternoon, to dart teams, skittles, pool, showing of all wide range of sports on TV, family events such as parties, christenings, funerals, children Christmas parties, live music and discos not only from the pub but from the parish hall too, raise lots of money for charity and generally just a great place to hang out with friends and family.
This pub is where families come to meet from sometimes 4 different generations, friends get together to socialise, children play and have fun and people who live on their own come to enjoy company and games like an old pub use to be. My son sometimes sits with his dad to play cards with a man of 91 years old.... where do you see this now a days....nowhere!!!! My daughter was taught how to count and learnt her colours with another 90 year old man something in life we will never get back.
I moved me and my kids to this village for the community and this pub, It has always been at the heart of this community whether you go regularly now or you have attended one of the events or you went with mum/dad/grandparents when you were younger....... to not have this at the heart of the community will be very soul destroying.
This petition is to try to prevent the approval of any planning and halt the sale and allow the pub to continue as is now.
