Save the Growler in Minnesota

Right now, breweries in Minnesota cannot sell the 64 fl. oz. jugs of beer known as "growlers" if they produce more than 20,000 barrels of beer per year due to a provision in the law known as the "growler cap".
In September, Castle Danger Brewery in Two Harbors exceeded that cap and ended growler sales to comply with the law. Other hometown breweries, such as Lift Bridge Brewery in Stillwater, Bent Paddle Brewing Co. in Duluth, and Indeed Brewing Co. in Minneapolis, are rapidly approaching the cap and will soon be forced to do the same. Growler sales account for a big portion of some breweries' revenue; the growler cap puts local breweries in an impossible position and unnecessarily affects those who enjoy their products—and I believe it needs to change.
I have introduced legislation in the Minnesota Senate to change the growler cap and will aggressively push for the change during the next legislative session. This isn't about politics and this crosses party lines; this is about supporting our local businesses and letting them grow. Please sign this petition and let Governor Tim Walz and my fellow members of the Minnesota Legislature know that you support your local breweries and want the growler cap lifted or changed.
