SDG&E is lying to our community for their own interest, not the interest of the community. When has any of those trees fell into power lines? I’ve lived adjacent to the green belt for 20+ years and have never seen any problems with the trees. They should plant something much bigger than a 15 gal tree but they’re cheap in community spending while raking in millions of profits per year. What are they doing to benefit the community when they fast track a change like this? Why didn’t they consider burying them? Bullshit utility company excuses. Money prevailing over community interest. Congrats SDG&E for being pricks.

I live in Carmel Valley and walk my dog in Carmel Mission Park nearly every day. Removing the trees and leaving only stumps would negatively impact the character and beauty of the park. Also, I've heard that most of the treelines lie BELOW the SDG&E power lines, so I'm baffled as to why the trees pose a risk to safety.

I believe in trees. We need their oxygen, not another cell tower!
