MISSION: It is time that we reverse the impacts of plastic pollution. 350 million tonnes of plastic waste is created each year and the effects of plastic pollution are negatively impacting the health of the environment, people, and animals. One of the biggest reasons for this problem is because of the reliance on single-use plastic. The goal of the petition is to limit single-use plastic packaging law to regulate the use of plastic packaging and use alternatives like biodegradable or compostable packaging made from materials such as paper, bamboo, or cornstarch and push for the Senate Bill S4246B: Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act to be passed.
