Il possente Sassolungo, a forma di diamante, troneggia nel cuore delle Dolomiti e insieme ad altre cime forma il cosiddetto Gruppo del Sassolungo. Questa meraviglia della natura - un atollo fossile unico nel suo genere - è uno straordinario bene collettivo che purtroppo sta seriamente rischiando di finire nelle mani di alcuni investitori privati con l’unico obiettivo di cementificare e trarre profitto.

L’incubo sta diventando realtà: l’avvio dei lavori che sconvolgeranno quest’area è imminente e stiamo parlando dei Piani di Cunfin, ai piedi del Sassolungo, una zona che garantisce acqua potabile per 7mila abitanti, con zone umide ad alta biodiversità e che rappresenta un habitat per flora e fauna sotto tutela. 

Ciò che lascia allibiti è la costruzione di un nuovo impianto di collegamento in questa natura unica e incontaminata, che impatterebbe molto negativamente su quest'area. Il progetto Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi - Ronda attirerebbe ancora più turisti. Basti pensare che nel 2022 queste aree sciistiche, con 4 milioni di pernottamenti, rientravano già tra le mete turistiche più frequentate dell'Alto Adige.

MA NON È TUTTO!

Nell'aprile 2023 è stato presentato all'Ufficio pianificazione territoriale un progetto per il rinnovo della bidonvia che porta alla Forcella del Sassolungo. Il relativo progetto porterebbe a una capacità più che raddoppiata e la stazione a monte, posta nel cuore del massiccio, dovrebbe diventare quasi quattro volte più grande rispetto all’attuale. Questo significa che dovrà essere tolta una parte di parete rocciosa e rimossi parecchi metri cubi.

Il progetto sarà inoltre sovvenzionato con minimo 45% di fondi pubblici: un incredibile favore per gli investitori a spese della popolazione e dell'ambiente.

Dopo 3 anni di lotta instancabile da parte del gruppo Nosc Cunfin, è finalmente arrivato un piccolo segnale da parte del governo altoatesino. A settembre il governo ha deciso di sostenere un processo partecipativo nelle comunità interessate per la tutela dell'area, il che non significa che il gruppo del Sassolungo sarà davvero protetto.

Pertanto, chiediamo un SÌ definitivo alla tutela del gruppo del Sassolungo nell’ambito di un parco naturale - una decisione attesa da tempo - e un NO deciso alla costruzione di nuove opere infrastrutturali in quest’area, unica nel suo genere insieme al paesaggio alpino circostante.

Im Herzen der Dolomiten thront der mächtige, diamantförmige Langkofel. Mit dem Plattkofel und weiteren Bergspitzen, bildet er die sogenannte Langkofelgruppe. Dieses Wahrzeichen, in Wirklichkeit ein weltweit einmaliges versteinertes Atoll, wird von einigen Investoren, für sich beansprucht. Laut deren Absichten soll dieses Naturwunder, gewinnbringend verbaut werden.

Nun ist das Befürchtete eingetroffen. Das Areal droht an kapitalmächtige Investoren und Gesellschaften verloren zu gehen. So auch die noch intakten Cunfinböden am Fuße des Langkofels, die als Trinkwasserquelle für 7000 Einwohner dienen, Feuchtgebiete mit hoher Biodiversität aufweisen und Lebensräume für schützenswerte Flora und Fauna sind.

Was einen fassungslos macht, ist, dass man in dieser einzigartigen, unberührten Natur eine Bahntrasse bauen möchte, die dieses Gebiet drastisch durchschneiden würde. Diese geplante Gröden- Seiser Alm- Ronda würde noch zusätzliche Touristenmassen anlocken. Bedenke man, dass im Jahre 2022 diese Skigebiete, mit 4 Millionen Nächtigungen, bereits zu den massenreichsten Touristenhotspot Südtirol gehören.

NOCH NICHT GENUG!

Im April 2023 wurde dem Amt für Landschaftsplanung ein Projekt zur Erneuerung der Seilbahn auf die Langkofelscharte präsentiert. Dieses Projekt bringt nicht nur MEHR ALS EINE VERDOPPELUNG an Kapazität mit sich, nein, auch die Bergstation, welche sich im Herzen der Langkofelgruppe befindet, sollte ANNÄHERND VIER MAL SO GROß gebaut werden. Das bedeutet, dass etliche Kubikmeter Felsen gesprengt und abgetragen werden müssten.

Das Liftprojekt zur Langkofelscharte wird mit mindestens 45% öffentlichen Geldern gefördert werden. Das ist ein unglaublicher Profit für die Investoren auf Kosten der Allgemeinheit und der Umwelt.

Nach 3 Jahren unermüdlichen Kampf der Initiativgruppe Nosc Cunfin ist endlich ein kleines Zeichen von Seiten der Südtiroler Landesregierung gekommen. Diese hat im September die Unterstützung für einen Partizipationsprozess in den betroffenen Gemeinden für eine Unterschutzstellung beschlossen, was noch lange nicht bedeutet, dass die Langkofelgruppe wirklich unter Schutz gestellt wird.

Deshalb fordern wir ein endgültiges JA für die längst überfällige Ausweisung der Langkofelgruppe als Naturpark und ein entschlossenes NEIN zum Verbau dieser einzigartigen Berggruppe samt ihrer umgebenden hochalpinen Landschaft.

The mighty, diamond-shaped Sassolungo towers in the heart of the Dolomites and together with other peaks forms the so-called Sassolungo Group. This marvel of nature - a unique fossil atoll - is an extraordinary collective good that is unfortunately at serious risk of ending up in the hands of a few private investors with the sole aim of making a profit.

The nightmare is becoming a reality: The start of the works that are going to disrupt this area is imminent. We are talking about the Piani di Cunfin, at the foot of the Sassolungo, an area that provides drinking water for 7 thousand inhabitants, with wetlands of high biodiversity and a habitat for flora and fauna that are under protection.

It is unbelievable that the construction of a new connection plant in this unique and unspoilt nature is being planned, which would have a very negative impact on the area. The Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi - Ronda project would attract even more tourists. In 2022, these ski areas, with 4 million overnight stays, were already among the most popular tourist destinations in South Tyrol. 

HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT ALL!

In April 2023, a project was submitted to the regional planning office for the renovation of the cable car to the Forcella del Sassolungo. This project would more than double the capacity and the mountain station, located in the heart of the massif, would become almost four times larger than it is today. This means that part of the rock face will have to be removed as well as several cubic metres.

The project will also be subsidised with a minimum of 45% public funds: an incredible profit for investors at the expense of the population and the environment. 

After 3 years of tireless struggle by the Nosc Cunfin group, a small sign has finally come from the South Tyrolean government. In September, the government decided to support a participatory process in the affected communities for the protection of the area, which does not mean that the Sassolungo group will really be protected.

Therefore, we are demanding a definitive YES for the long overdue designation of the Sassolungo group as a nature park and a resolute NO to the construction of new infrastructure projects in this unique mountain group and its surrounding high alpine landscape.
