Why this petition matters
The Complex Theaters and Studios is a Los Angeles landmark for creatives in the entertainment field. This set of theaters is home to Theatre of Arts, whose alumni includes Hollywood celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Clint Eastwood, Natalie Wood, Shirley Temple, etc. As such, logic would state that this place be converted into a historic landmark by the City of Los Angeles. This place is one of the few, if only, locations in Los Angeles where new actors and instructors alike can rent a theater. The Complex is also home to The Fringe festival, which is a large yearly event promoting theatrical arts.
Unfortunately, The Complex is now in danger of closing this year, as shown in the article below:
We must do everything we can to persuade the owners not to sell The Complex. Please sign this petition and add a message (optional) with your positive experiences and why the buildings shouldn't close/be sold.
