Due to the owner and developer having alternative plans for The Crown & Sceptre public house, it will sadly close near the end of May 2021. 
This will be a travesty for the locals and surrounding visitors. The landlord and staff have made the pub into a safe and entertaining place to meet up. It will affect so many people who rely on this pub for their primary place for social contact, including many disabled and the elderly. We need to contact Members of the Campaign for Pubs, the British Pub Confederation and Protect Pubs who can facilitate a campaign to end ‘permitted development rights’. Thus stopping the absurd situation where our pub  could simply be converted into a  supermarket or any other commercial uses with no need for planning permission, depriving our community of any say. If we win it will, in all intents and purposes, save a community from feeling lonely and becoming polarised.
