The unit's history is inscribed within its walls. Over 20 years of it is memorialized on its white beams under the ceiling.

The scheduled demolition this coming January alarms the alumni because the Administration has denied removal and preservation of the beams due to unspecified "health hazards."

This petition asks the Administration to allow CA-937 alumni, under the guidance of Sgt. Billie Smith, access to the emptied rooms prior to demolition so that sections of beam may be carefully removed and cut for preservation in the new rooms that will be built for CA-937.

The alumni can supply eye protection and respiratory protection (masks) along with saws needed to remove and preserve the beams. CA-937 alumni will supply the work and materials. We have willing volunteers already mobilized for the task at hand.

Plans include careful removal of beams, one by one, from oldest to newest. Surfaces of the beams will be cut into sections and 0.5-inch faces will be removed and sealed with acrylic, moved, and reconstructed as a tribute-mural in the new location of Poly's JROTC. Alumni will supply everything.

Members of the community, please sign this petition urging the 2013 Administration of Poly High to preserve the 20-year unit history and allow JROTC alumni to preserve and transport these beams to their new permanent location on campus.
