Jack Belanger’s treatment of the Theta Theta chapter’s pet hamster, Steve, has been borderline abusive. He has kept a living thing in the hallway of a grotesque house with fluctuating air temperatures, frequent insects, and people with destructive tendencies. In addition, Steve has adopted the habit of biting people who try to touch her, something that was never a concern when she was in room 12. This is a strong indication of poor treatment and intense fear. Finally, brothers have said that they have noticed poor cage maintenance in terms of equipment, food, water, and cleanliness. In my and other brothers’ opinion, Brother Belanger should be commanded to either step up his level of care or compensate others brothers to take care of Steve. Thus far, he has utterly refused to improve his care, forcing me to send this text.
