Save SNOEMAN’S mural on 140th & Lenox
Why this petition matters

The prolific street artist SNOEMAN has blessed the corner of 140th St. and Lenox Ave. with murals on the facades of local businesses. The community at large has received the artwork with enthusiasm and joy. The positive and colorful imagery captures, both literally and figuratively, the spirit of the neighborhood and brightens this small stretch of Lenox Ave.
Business owners who occupy these retail spaces have given their enthusiastic consent for the murals to be painted. Further, the work of painting the building, the roll-up gates, and the outdoor freezer occurred in broad daylight. This artwork is not vandalism. Rather, it is a wanted and celebrated gift to a community and its residents.
Now, less than a month later, the owner of the building on which the murals have been painted wants them removed.
The loss of this artwork would staunch SNOEMAN’S celebration of Central Harlem’s vibrancy. Sign this petition to support the preservation of these murals.
