Our goals are simple - continue to fund SBS Zela in light of funding cuts and increase government spending in sports coverage featuring women's sports.

SBS Zela a news service featuring predominately women's sports news and women's perspectives on sport was launched 8 months ago buoyed by the success of the Matilda's and high television ratings of AFL Women's exhibition games. As pointed out in the introductory article:

"Great moments like this have inspired us to create an online catalogue if you will, of all the latest and greatest news items dedicated to successful female athletes everywhere.

Most importantly though, it provides young girls and women everywhere the chance to have a platform to freely express themselves and to be heard."

The coverage of women's sports was seriously lacking until SBS Zela came into our lives. With more thoughtful and in depth articles on women's sport SBS Zela was a godsend for women sports fans everywhere.

Unfortunately in the middle of the Rio Olympics where the women on Australia's olympic team are dominating SBS has decided to pull the plug on funding this incredible news source. 

We want SBS Zela fully funded and able to continue giving us the sports news and coverage that we crave as women fans of sport and fans of women's sports.
