Rushikonda is a lush green hill on the shore of bay of bengal in Visakhapatnam city of Andhra Pradesh state. It is one of the prominent tourist destinations. It also had a resort belonging to the state tourism board. Recently, the resort was demolished to accommodate a larger resort, though the existing one served it's purpose. For the construction of new resort, the hill is being levelled with bulldozers and the gravel is shifted to other areas. Due to this the natural beauty of Rushikonda is lost and the greenery and vegetation is also at stake. 

The Ministry of Tourism of Andhra Pradesh, and the Ministry of Forests along with the National Green Tribunal must take the responsibility in safeguarding the natural assets and stop the further damage to the hill.
