Save QLD St John Cadets Program for youth

St John's Cadets has historically provided a volunteer youth program for young people between the ages of 8 and 18years of age. The Queensland branch of St John's has announced the closure of this program at the end of 2017.

This program provides first aid based skills as well as teaching cadet members to become meaningful contributors to society as volunteers in their communities. Kids in Cadets learn resilience, adaptability, confidence, public speaking and engagement with a wide variety of people. They contribute to providing volunteer first aid at multiple community events.

Many children who attend St John's Cadets programs go on as adults to successful careers in larger health organisations.

Without this vital program the encouragement of youth to provide volunteer work will lead to shortages at these events in the future. This program is beneficial to the cadets, the community and the organisation of St John.

Please vote keep our cadets programs running!
