The Tahoe South summer fireworks are at grave risk of not happening on the July 4th and Labor Day weekend both this year and years to come. The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority has been defending itself and the two fireworks shows in a lawsuit initiated in 2013
Extensive efforts through mediation were unsuccessful and now our community is likely to pay the price. The firework shows have been a staple for Tahoe communities for 30 years and are seen as the busiest times of the year, generating millions for the local economy.
The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority has scheduled an emergency board meeting on Thursday, March 27, at 4 pm at thier offices at 69 Highway 50, Stateline NV, to address the lawsuit brought by Mr. and Mrs. Truxler. Please attend, as comments on the severely harmful economic and environmental ramifications of the Truxlers' action will be expressed.
If you cannot attend please sign this petition and it will be hand delivered to the Truxlers or their lawyers. The ramifications of this lawsuit go beyond the Tahoe region as if precedent is set in this case; the lawyers behind this lawsuit could pursue this ruling nationwide.
THAT COULD MEAN AN END ALL FIREWORK DISPLAYS ON FEDERAL WATERS WHEREVER YOU LIVE IN THE USA.
Please show your support and attend the meeting or sign this petition stating 'Why are the Tahoe South 4th of July and Labor Day Fireworks important to you?’
