I stopped home in the middle of the day yesterday could not locate my dog. He apparently got into the trash and I found him in one of the kids bedrooms with potato chip bag stuck on his head, he was flat on his belly, all four limbs were sticking straight out and shaking as if he was having a seizure. the bag was rapidly inflating and deflating as if he was hyperventilating. Knowing he was in distress I immediately ripped the bag right off of his head picked him up and he was very hot to the touch it had been a half hour since anyone else had been at the home so I don’t know exactly how long he was like that. It took over 2 hours for him to start to act like himself again.  Looking online I found that this is a bigger problem than I knew and many people have had and lost their pets. 

I do not blame the companies that sell these products, a dog is a dog and he’s going to go after food relentlessly. I would however like them to put a small warning on their bags letting people know that this could happen. Had I known that this was a possibility any potato chip bag would get split from top to bottom before getting thrown out as they will now, now that I and my family know. 

I know if I lost my dog I would’ve been devastated as would anyone else and all I’m trying to accomplish here is to prevent some little boy or a girl coming home and finding their dog dead with a potato chip bag stuck on its head that’s heartbreaking thought.

if we get enough signatures I am certain that these companies would voluntarily put small warning labels on their bags to protect our pets.
