Save our neighbourhood from illegal marijuana businesses on Eglinton West corridor

Illegal marijuana businesses are targeting our neighbourhood and impacting quality of life, and personal safety.
There are currently 3 illegal storefronts remaining in our neighbourhood (2 successfully closed this passed July/2017). Over the past year, these illegal businesses have established themselves on the same blocks as schools, daycares, and child centric learning centres and resulted in multiple armed robberies, a large fire explosion, vandalism, and toxic airborne chemical emissions. Individuals from these businesses are creating a nuisance by loitering and disturbing residents, and indulging in illegal conduct by possessing, consuming and/or discarding marijuana on neighbourhood streets, school yards, alleyways or in vehicles and driving away under the influence.
We the undersigned, residents, business owners and/or supporters of Toronto in St. Paul’s and Eglinton-Lawrence Ridings, petition the Toronto Police Services Board (Chairman Andrew Pringle) and the Chief of Toronto Police (Mark Saunders) to take immediate action to uphold the law and close down all existing and any future illegal marijuana businesses in the Eglinton West corridor until the legal distribution for marijuana has been mandated by the provincial government.
