Save Our Lady of Victory!

Save Our Lady of Victory!

We are asking that our local elected officials work with the City of Chicago to save this historic and architecturally significant church on the Northwest Side.
The last Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Victory (OLV) was celebrated in November of 2021. If we do not act, the church will be sold and potentially destroyed.
Help us to stop the bulldozers!
The significance of OLV:
- The home of the oldest Catholic parish on the far Northwest Side
- Designed in the rare (for Chicago) Spanish Mission Revival style
- Designed by famous architects who were prolific in Chicago and the Midwest
- The steeple is a landmark for the community, towering over the neighborhood
- It is two full churches stacked on top of one another, seating almost 2000
On the Northwest Side, most our historic structures have disappeared – the fabric of our communities has been decimated. We do not want to lose one of the final physical monuments of our history. As it is integral to the legacy of the Northwest Side, this building should be a Chicago Landmark.
