This petition is to keep Mr. Troy Gerleman as the High School Band Director, Troy Gerleman has been the High School Band Director for thirteen years. In those thirteen years, Mr. Gerleman has gone above and beyond to give each student the best experience throughout their four years in the High School Band. This change will affect each student because they will not be given the same experience and musical knowledge that would be provided by Mr. Gerleman. We’ve had unfortunate news that he will be moved to 7th through 8th grade Band. It has been decided that Mr. Kiley Martin will be moved to teach the High School Band. Unfortunately, his expertise is not in that area of teaching. Band enrollment has already started to drop dramatically for the next school year.  We need your help by signing this petition to keep Troy Gerleman with the Pride Of Ottumwa High School Band. Each signature will demonstrate to the school board that Mr. Gerleman has in some way impacted your life.
