Tree Lovers Society started this petition to Municipal Corporation Bathinda
It is submitted that there are almost100 years old 16 trees of Ficus Religiosa (Peepal) & Dalbergia Sissoo ( Sheesham) standing on Main Road of Nai Basti area of Bathinda, Punjab, India. Their is a plan to widen this road by 10 feet and hence these trees are ordered to cut down.
It is submitted that these are the only trees in this area and in the present scenario of covid-19 Pandemic, there is need of oxygen. If the said trees are not ordered to be stopped from cutting down, then it will cause great harm to the health of residents of city .
